A Quiet - Peaceful - Beautiful Place to Be

Organic Gardens Bed and Breakfast is five miles from the entrance to Sequoia National Park and about a mile from Highway 198, the road taking one into the park and onto Kings Canyon National Park. Three Rivers, where Organic Gardens is located, is a community of 3,000 people. It is 5 hours from San Francisco and 5 hours from Los Angeles.

The five acres of land at Organic Gardens is on the side of a foothill in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. California Native Oaks, Manzanitas, shrubs and wildflowers in season together with birds varying in size from the Anna's Hummingbird to the Red Tailed Hawk create the feeling of being in the intimate space of nature. The Kaweah River seen and heard from the Gardens, the view of Alta Peak and its "Elephant," Moro Rock and the snowcapped ridges of Buck Canyon add yet other dimensions to the peace and beauty.

Internet Access is available for guests.

MAY-JUNE-JULY-AUGUST:

WEATHER: By mid-MAY, we have summer weather. ORGANIC GARDENS is at 1000 feet and daytime temperatures are in the 90s. At night because we are on the Kaweah River and get the down draft from the mountains, the temperature is 30 degrees cooler than daytime. Thus, night time temperatures are in the mid-60s to low 70s. There is a lovely breeze from the mountains at night.

BIRDS: Summer sees the Red-Tailed Hawks, Scrub Blue Jays, Acorn Woodpeckers and quail who live on the property are chatting a lot. The Orioles, Ash-Throated Flycatcher, Tit Mouse and Purple Finch are here also. Mid-July through August, the RESIDENT HUMMINGBIRDS will have visitors: 30 to 40 migratory Humming birds, stopping over on their way to Costa Rica.

ORGANIC GARDENS are full of summer vegetables, fruits, herbs and flowers.

SUNSETS and SUNRISES are absolutely GORGEOUS!

HIKING AND STROLLING in the National Park is excellent. Trails in the Giant Forest and Mineral King areas will be beautiful with many, many wildflowers blooming throughout the summer. Redbud and Dogwood bloom through June and July.

RIVER RAFTING for the daring is excellent, especially this year with the extra rains. Should be able to raft most of June. One can see and hear rafters from Organic Garden's deck as they make their way through the rapids below.

BIKING is always fun here as the roads run along the three rivers.
